The IT Science Centre

The IT Sience Centre in Putbus is a centre for applied research and development in the sector of information technologies. It is an institute for computer science within the stake of the academies of the state Mecklenburg-Vorpommern: University of Rostock, University for Applied Sciences of Stralsund, University of Wismar and the University of Greifswald. The IT Science Centre is an important component of the IuK Centre of Rügen (Information- and Communication Centre) directly situated at the IT-Circus in Putbus. The IuK Centre is composed of the education sector by the IT College, the IT Economy by the IT Business-Centre and the research sector by the IT Science Centre.

Targets and Tasks of the IT Science Centres
	Industry-oriented research - business association with enterprises in Mecklenburg/Vorpommern
	Grouping of research competences from the basic research and the applied research of the University of Rostock as well as the applied research and development by the University of Applied Sciences of Stralsund and by the University of Wismar.
	Research and development marketable concepts and products, formations of a company
	Establishment of workstations in the IT sector for qualified skilled workers from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
Professional justification of the IT Science Centres
The professional justification is divided in the sector of basic research and the applied development.
